How to use

Upload a scan and choose the film type
Choose an image; it is inverted automatically after loading. In Color, select Color Negative or B&W Film to match your scan.
Select the frame and balance colors
In Crop, choose an aspect ratio, zoom in and drag to include the complete frame without film borders or sprocket holes. The cropped area is also the image you will download. For color film, select Balance colors from selection. After changing the crop, balance again to sample the new region; Use full image restores full-image sampling.
Adjust color and brightness
Return to Color to adjust exposure, contrast and warmth. B&W film uses exposure and contrast; region color balance and warmth apply only to color film.
Add a frame or caption
In Frame, choose a preset and adjust border width or color. In Text, enter a caption, choose its color and size, then drag it on the image. Precise position provides sliders for finer adjustments.
Download your finished image
Download the JPEG with your color adjustments, crop, frame and caption. Large images may be downscaled. On phones, scroll the controls below; the preview and download button stay above.

Crop position slider disabled?: At the original ratio and 100% zoom, the crop fills the image and cannot move. Zoom in or choose another ratio. An axis stays disabled if the crop still fills that dimension. You can also pinch the image to zoom.
Negative/positive comparison missing?: Comparison is available in Color before cropping or adding a frame or text. While editing the composition, the preview shows the complete finished image.
Want to start over?: Reset clears color adjustments, crop, frame and text and restores full-image sampling; your film type stays selected. Loading another image clears crop, frame, text and the old sampling region while keeping Color settings.
